Stromboli -- Final scenes of the Rossellini-Bergman film, Stromboli, which attracted world wide attention, are shot in an Italian political detention camp. Italian movie director Roberto Rossellini announced August 15 that Ingrid Bergman would file a divorce suit in her native Sweden against Dr. Peter Lindstrom, who flew to Stromboli to clear the obscure love triangle. Regardless of publicity and rumors, the shooting of the film goes on. While waiting for a scene, Miss Bergman knits and Rossellini reads a telegram. This is one of the first pictures of the director and his star since her divorce announcement. (1949)
